What a Weekend!

Your 50th Reunion is now history, but what a wonderful weekend it was.  If you missed it, we're sorry, but will do what we can to bring to this web site photographs of some of the event, old friends, and the joy of seeing each other again.  Please come back when you can, and we'll make every effort to update the site often.

Special thanks to all those that helped make our reunion a success.  Your committee deserves a special thanks for all the extremely hard work they put in, taking time from other activities, family and responsibilities, in order to make the 50th one of the best reunions ever.

Thankyou to Jim Peterik, founder of the Ides of March.  Jim graciously donated his time and his talent (with no small thanks to his siter, our classmate, Alice Ann Peterik McCabe) to entertain us with some fantastic music.  By the way, Jim is from the class of 68, Morton West, and is a World renowned musician and song writer.  Most of you will remember one, Eye of the Tiger, and many others.  Thanks, Jim!

Many others pitched in or offered their help, and we gratefully acknowledge their efforts and thank all for your input.

Charley Nevaril pitched in and provided us with a wonderful "nostalgia" video to help set the memory working again as to just how great we had it.  Charley also helped organize a breakfast on Sunday morning.

June Zitek Malina provided a fascinating compilation of the survey she created, and we will be posting the results on this web site (many more filled out the form at the reunion and you will have an opportunity to do so through this web site soon if you have not done so already) probably some time in October of this year.

Jeanette Roasch Bartels has been working diligently on putting together a directory of all our old friends, which will be made available as a download on this site as soon as it is finished.  In the meantime, if you know of someone that we are looking for, please email their information to us through this web site as quickly as you can.  Just go to the contact page and there you will see the form you can use.  Right now it is for registration for the reunion, but we will change that as soon as we can.  In the meantime it will work fine as it is.

There are far too many to thank personally in this little space, but without all the input and help, we would never have had the wonderful reunion we had.

Thanks to all for all your help!

Help Us Find Everyone!

We still need your help.  Please contact any members of your class that you may be in touch with and ask them to go to this web site, www.jsm58.com, and register on the contact page.  Remember, it has been 50 years since we graduated, and finding everyone is a very difficult task.  We are working on providing you all with a directory of your former classmates. You can help us out.  Either send us the information yourself if they can't, or make sure they contact us themselves.  If they are not able to use a computer, they can mail us their contact information at the following address:

Morton Class of '58
Attn:  Mike Willett
3044 Fairway Oaks Drive
DeKalb, Illinois 60115
This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

All information will be compiled by Jeanette Roasch Bartels and be put on this web site for download when it is completed.  Jeanette will be making forms available at the reunion, for all to fill out, if they have not already done so.

We would also like to thank the Wynham Drake Hotel.  I've worked on many business functions with hotels all around the country, and never have I had such a pleasurable experience as I had with this hotel and it's staff.  Our every need and request was met with a "can do" attitude, and with kindness and consideration as well.  We would like to give a special thanks to their Director of Catering, Gino DiRenzo, a true professional and a man of great dignity.  He really made our reunion special, and we owe him a great deal.  Again, if you are in need of a location for a special occasion, please contact Mr. DiRenzo at 630-574-5700, or direct at 630-645-2751.  You will have an easy and pleasant experience, and be taken care of by one of the best in the business.
